Holiday Decorations for the Full Time RVer
One of the questions that Bill and I are often asked this time of year is “Do you decorate the RV for the holidays?”
“Well, of course!” is our answer…
Before I tell you what we do for the holidays, here’s a post from another full time RV family that talks about how they do things at their house on wheels…
Tis’ the season and living in an RV is no excuse for not decorating.
While it’s easy to string lights on the awning and hang stockings from the slide, finding room for a Christmas Tree can be a bit tricky.
Last year I had a 10in pink prelit tree that I loved looking at. But it took up valuable real estate on my very limited table and was eventually stuck in a corner.
This year I searched for the perfect RV Tree option and found a few.
My ideal tree would fold completely flat! Sure enough- they make one!
but then I saw this one:
A tree that only takes up wall space? I have
plenty some wall space to spare. This could be the one.
A few more clicks, and I finally found the perfect tree for our RV.
Not as big as the first one, but still a good size and I really liked the colors!
So here you have it – the tree in our RV.
How do you decorate from Christmas? Do you have a tree? Does it fold flat?
For Bill & I, we have a small tree that we place on the dashboard of the motorhome when we’re stationary. We also use the steering wheel tilted flat, covered in felt snow, as a base for our nativity set. We usually have garland wrapped lights around the window treatments just to make things a little more festive still.
Of course, we also have lights outside around the awning, up the steps on the back of the RV, and even around the windshield if Bill is feeling particularly holiday-ish.
We even hang some stockings from the knobs on the front cabinets to make sure that all 3 of us (Fritz included!) can get a little something from Santa when he stops at our mobile home on wheels!
Enjoy your holidays!
